These terms cover the use of this website and the booking of a portrait session with Pure Elements Photography, a husband-and-wife studio based in Northglenn, Colorado.

Using this website

This site exists to show our work and let you get in touch. You are welcome to browse it and to contact us through it. Please do not copy, republish or use our photographs elsewhere without our written permission — every image on this site is our original work and remains our property.

We keep the site accurate and current as best we can, but we make no guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

What we photograph

We specialize in senior portraits, family sessions and newborn photography across Colorado's Front Range. We do not photograph weddings and we do not operate a photo booth service. If you contact us about work we do not offer, we will tell you plainly rather than take the booking.

Booking a session

A session is confirmed when we have agreed on a date, time and location together, and any retainer we have agreed on has been paid. Until then a date is not held for you.

The specific terms of your session — what it includes, what it costs, any retainer, and how many images you receive — are the ones we agree with you directly in writing before the session. Those agreed terms govern your booking. This page sets the general framework around them.

Rescheduling and cancellation

Life happens, and we would rather move a session than have you sit through one you are not ready for. If you need to reschedule, tell us as early as you can and we will do our best to find another date.

Outdoor sessions depend on weather and light. If conditions would spoil the session, either of us may call it and we will reschedule at no additional charge.

If you cancel entirely, any retainer already paid covers the time and the date we set aside for you and is generally not refundable. Anything beyond that is handled in the terms we agreed with you.

Your images

What you receive

After your session we select and edit the images, and deliver the finished gallery to you. Editing style is part of our work as photographers; we do not deliver unedited or raw files.

What you may do with them

Your delivered images are yours to print, share with family and friends, and post on your own social media. Please do not apply your own filters or edits to them before sharing, and please credit us when you post — it is how a small studio grows.

Delivered images are for personal use. If you want to use them commercially — for a business, a brand, or anything you are paid for — talk to us first and we will sort out a license.

What we may do with them

We retain copyright in the photographs we create. We may use selected images from your session in our portfolio, on this website, and on our social media, unless you ask us not to. If you would prefer we did not publish your images anywhere, just tell us — before or after the session — and we will honor it without question. Newborn and minor sessions are never published without a parent or guardian's agreement.

During the session

We want everyone comfortable and safe, particularly with newborns and small children. We will never place a baby in a position we consider unsafe, and a parent or guardian must be present throughout any session involving a minor. You are responsible for the conduct and safety of everyone you bring to the session.

If a location requires a permit or a property owner's permission, we will discuss that with you in advance.

Payment

Payment terms are the ones we agree with you in writing when you book. Galleries are delivered once payment is complete.

Liability

We carry out every session with care and professionalism. In the unlikely event of an equipment failure, a file loss, or another circumstance beyond our control that prevents us from delivering your images, our responsibility is limited to refunding what you have paid us for the affected session. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the current version. The terms in force when you book are the ones that apply to your session.
